Jonathan Gagné, astrophysics researcher, had big ambitions for his database project. This is a huge directory of planets and constellations that allows searching and viewing, all publicly available on a web page.
By being responsible for dev stack and the infrastructure tasks, I was able to allow the client to develop their project with complete confidence by taking care of technological tasks:
- Technology selection
- Setting up the infrastructure
- Configuring automatic deployments
- Setting up the visualization website (Python, Flask, Passenger)
- Development of the main website (Nodejs) and its API
- Automated regular backups
The project allows researchers around the world to access and perform queries on the database.
